Michigan mud searching

Postby breadman3030 » Thu Oct 03, 2024 8:24 pm

I'm finally committing to going out and getting dirty. If anyone from MI (or the midwest) has any tips I'd appreciate it! I already understand the safety stuff. I basically just want to make sure I'm not wasting time looking in dud spots.

All I really know is to look near water (and generally areas with lower elevation) but beyond that I'm pretty clueless. Would love to hear if y'all got anything, thanks

I’m in SE Michigan, I got luck with one spot but it’s private. I know East Lansing has a good river spot but it’s peak time is mid-summer.

What do you know about that EL spot? Last place I would've expected tbh

Check out all available canoe rentals/trips available on the Pine River and try the ones on the lowest stretches.

It's been a while since I've been out that way.

The last trip started in ... East Lansing. Hehe (Go Monties!!)

Me personally I am looking for spots in Holland. This is because I have a summer conference I am going to but there’s a lot of recreation time. I’m hoping the large marsh could have some good spots to play in.
