Ditto. I can clearly remember watching the 20th anniversary Pearl Harbor documentaries on B/W TV in 1961, when the memory was much fresher and most of the veterans were still with us (including my father). I think the term “greatest generation” is an apt one. And there have been many others who served in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan, and others. We would not be here in this free country without them.

It's been 83 years and soon there won't be anyone alive who was there that day (say sorry). My own relatives have long passed on but I'll always remember how they'd talk about not just the shock and horror of what happened, but how it got a divided country put aside it's petty differences to rightously fuck up the shit of those who had wronged us.
