And I am remiss in delaying commenting on her passing. A great voice and also a prodigal talent. It seemed like I could not turn on the radio without hearing Killing Me Softly. RIP.

Gene Hackman could be the hero or the villain & be compelling either role!

Something odd here. Gene, his wife and his dog were all found deceased.

Gene Hackman, the Oscar-winning actor whose gruff but soulful turns in classics such as “The French Connection,” “The Conversation” and “Unforgiven” made him one of the most respected performers in Hollywood, died Wednesday.

He was 95.

He was found dead alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 64, a classical pianist, and the couple's dog, the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.

"Foul play is not suspected as a factor in those deaths at this time however exact cause of death has not been determined. This is an active and ongoing investigation by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office," the statement said.

Deputies were called at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday to an address on Old Sunset Trail in Hyde Park, “where Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64 and a dog were found deceased,” the county sheriff’s public information officer, Denise Womack Avila, said in a statement.

The sheriff's office told a reporter from NBC affiliate KOB of Albuquerque that the alarm was raised after a neighbor called police to carry out a welfare check.

He was so creative. I consider him a FUN actor as well as a serious one.

One of my favorite roles of his. Watch this first, then the following:

Yep. Totally forgot about the Young Frankenstein bit. Classic.

My short list is The Birdcage, Enemy of the State and Bat21. It's hard to imagine anyone else in the first two.

But I know he did some great stuff, villain stuff, in Westerns and so on. My bad for not being familiar with a lot of it.

I had a nice write-up for Jesse Collin Young (83), but GoDaddy blocked me and it was all lost. "F" them.

Enjoy this anyway. The world needs his words more than ever today. Peace out.

Actually, it didn't have to be lost, since it should have still been in your browser history, at least during that browsing session. After you had access to the site again, all you had to do was just click the back/previous page button on your browser until you get back to the edit page and re-submit.
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

I did click back and the page was empty. Browser history did not retain what I had typed.
