Absolutely! The thixotropic liquefaction caused by her struggles will lessen the density of the mud below her body, causing the denser, viscous mud clutching her legs to sink into the space, overcoming her natural buoyancy and pulling her down with it!
(Yes, someone's been studying to write a scientifically-realistic quicksand scene!

The ship has already run aground, the captain beached it as the engine controls had jammed and the engine was running out of control. The remainder of the crew had already abandoned ship, but unfortunately forgot this crew member who was off duty and asleep in her cabin. She has just realised the urgency of the situation and is trying to escape before the engines blow. The situation was so urgent that she didn't have time to get dressed. The nature of the beach is hampering her progress somewhat, though in different circumstances she'd probably enjoy it. She's hit a patch of quicksand and is struggling to get through it.
I hasten to add that she will get through it, and the engines won't blow up (the regulator valve blows out first). Her next problem is to explain why she's at the door of the nearby farmhouse draped in nothing but wet seaweed!

No questions! That's dangerous, you should at least ask if she could leave the seaweed outside the door, it'll make the carpet wet and smelly!
