Sir Patrick Stewart... A veteran British film and television actor, famous for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Charles Xavier in the X-Men film series... has passed away at the age of 86.

My favorite scene from his wonderful PICARD series:

This sucks because I doubt they filmed all his Secret Wars scenes, if any. They have no choice but to kill off Professor X somehow.

If we are being honest, I was rooting for McAvoy and Fassbender for Professor X and Mags just because it’s common knowledge that both Patrick and Ian are up there in age and it would be difficult for them to fulfill their obligations at the level the MCU was charging on. They honestly gave so much for the past 26 years to the X-Men franchise, it’s safe to say they did enough and it’s time to pass the torch (which we thought X-Men Days of Future Past was supposed to be).

Other than that, RIP to a genuine legend. Sir Patrick Stewart, brilliant enough for Broadway and Shakespear. Silly enough to do voiceovers for Family Guy and Robot Chicken. We will miss him :(
