Not Quicksand But It's Hard To Tell (video is up)

Postby Nessie » Sat Aug 21, 2010 11:28 pm

I did not get my path guard today so I checked out the OTHER side of the lake...and there is way too much water over the mud to be of much use in filming quicksand scenes. I crawled around the cattails for about two hours before finally deciding that it was not going to happen.

So I put on my wetsuit and filmed something anyway.

Some of the single frames inside this clip are pretty hard to tell from quicksand. There's so much duckweed and other floating vegetative slop in these watery holes that if you don't look too closely, this could easily be a sinking picture.

But really, it is wetlook, and in motion it's obvious that it is...especially when the wetsuit gets water splashed on it and starts to shine...so the clip will be put on UMD and classed as such, and the planned title is...

"Duckweed Wetsuit".

I do know they have a lot of wetlook over there but I don't follow that forum much. I still suspect, though, that there are not many wetlook models in wetsuits, and probably, not many who've done their thing in marsh water that's coated with duckweed.

Never the less, a really good image. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Hmm. . . "Path Guards" keep coming up missing, and in every shoot, Nessie looks younger. . . Nah, must be my imagination. . .

Speaking of imagination, all I can see is a beautiful model chest-deep in a bog. From that angle, the wetsuit looks like a tight black t-shirt. 8-)

Is it just me, or does Nessie make anything look great to sink in? :)

The place is so green. In a good way... :D

Nah, the path guard can't go missing. Right now I can't replace him.

But I only need him for one location. And this wasn't it. Although it IS at the same wildlife management area. It's just at the other side of the lake. There's hardly any place to walk at that entry point. It's nearly all weeds with just a teeny weeny little path. So Mr. Intruder's not likely to go there. If he did, he'd be all done walking in five minutes.

So I don't have an intrusion risk there, but unfortunately there was no mud either.

That wetsuit's tight all righty. It awhile to get in and out of it. The thing is like having a whole extra layer of skin.

So when it's done, I'm going to throw it up on UMD and openly state with complete honesty that there is no point to this video at all except to zoom in on a wetsuit getting wet.

It's a plain old dip in the ground filled with water which is covered with duckweed.

Duckweed IS good. It is a benign water plant. Odorless and clean.

It's algae I avoid. Too much algae smells weird when it dies, and in large quantities, it's not very good for you.

Yeah... I hear certain kinds of algae are even toxic, and can burn you, leave a rash or worse...

Now duckweed... that's a nice friendly sounding plant. Very welcoming! :)

Yeah. There is a certain kind of algae that lives in Adirondack lakes (and the Great Lakes, also.) Nasty icky stuff, even by our standards. And the mud on the bottom of certain ponds and lakes is just. . . I can't really describe it, but it ain't pleasant to smell or have on your skin. :(

Drum roll...

For what it's worth...

"Duckweed Wetsuit", which contains many individual frames that look like quicksand scenes, is now on the UMD download store!

http://umd.net/download_info/duckweed_wetsuit

Disclaimer:

The video is about a wetsuit and a duckweed pond. It isn't about anything else. Anyone expecting plot, story, cleverness, or anything remotely brainy...is barking up the wrong cattail stalk.

It's wetlook. It shows me wearing a tight wetsuit splashing and dipping myself into a pond. And the pond is covered with duckweed.

(Can you tell I don't actually have a wetlook fetish? If this was a nice thick gooshy quicksand pit, I could think of all kinds of grand things to say. It's wetlook, though, and I'm at a loss for words when it comes to promoting an interest that I really only partly understand. But I looked for mud for about two hours at this site before giving up on it, and saying to myself..."I've got a UMD download store and UMD has a wetlook forum...so let's go shoot some wetlook...just put on the wetsuit...and start up the camera...and get in the pond and ROLL-BABY-ROLL!")

This photo certainly looks like there could be muck/quicksand just under the green water - a good sinking depth and reaching for help scene. Nice picture.
