"As a young man, I worried what others thought of me.
Once I got older, I decided I didn't care what others thought of me.
Now that I'm old, I've discovered others weren't thinking of me to begin with!"

Ditto.

I'll also add this from Jack Handy-
"And I do not care who see's me, because I am beautiful...."

Not that I have any great looks, but I just don't care when the neighbors , kayakers, etc... see me "meditate".....

I did not want to give a wrong impression; when any one's around, my "meditation" is strictly "G" rated....
Actually, meditation is mostly what I do in QS any way. Nice and comfy :-) Very relaxing...

I blamed the internet, actually, for my fetishes. It was a few years later when I discovered just how fun some of them were.

I've always lived in cities so I've never had a chance to go sinking save some pitiful take-the-hose-to-the-yard-for-ankle-deep-mudpuddles when I was a kid and still "allowed". I am lucky though in that I have lots of eyecandy (yay internet) and a partner who is willing to put up with my fetishes. All of them.

I've asked this question of myself over a decade and more ago.
I have since come up with an answer - Yes I understand why I enjoy the fetish, yes I can explain it to people privately, no I won't be discussing the matter here.

Suffice to say as far as fetishes go, and despite our alleged shame at our 'dirty secret' this fetish really is a fairly mild/more mainstream fetish than most of us would even imagine.

And having come to a personal understanding on this, I go on with life.
Life is ultimately to be lived, not considered.

I've often asked myself the question. I've been interested in seeing men in quicksand for as long as I can remember but I've never worked out why that particular situation or imagery. I think that perhaps I was introduced to the idea of someone in quicksand by various TV programs and it was fed by these and also various real-life incidents.

It seems, to me, to link in to various unconscious fears most of us have. A fear of drowning, a fear of being buried alive, a fear of being swallowed by the earth which is somehow alive (after all, the original meaning of "quick" in quicksand is "alive"...). Perhaps there's an element of all of this being sublimated into the fascination I've always had.

I just got really P.O. ed at a bunch of self-styled "Christians" for posting crude, nasty and hateful comments about a young man who killed himself after his roommate used a webcam to spy on him with his boyfriend- and posted it to the internet, "outing" him.
So I laid a curse on them that unless they repent of their hate, their darkest secrets will be revealed to the world.

Of course, this means that the odds are excellent that I will be "outed" with my muddy little secrets; the whole "threefold law" thing.
I can handle it.

Your wildest dreams couldn't prepare you for what was about to happen. The dark silence of the city is disturbed by the banshee wail of a supercharged V8 engine shatters the tranquility of downtown Palmont City. Cutting through corners in a raging blur, the blue-white headlights of a low-slung Ford GT soon approach you and the car screeches to a fantastic halt. Emannuelle, clad in thigh-high, high-heel boots, a leather low-cut skirt, a teal tank top and finished off with a heavy coat climbs out of the GT, coming within mere feet of you.

"So", she grins, crossing her arms. "You want me sinking in quicksand? Sounds easy enough." She pauses, glancing back at the vinyl-decorated, custom-modified Tier 3 Exotic. "But you should know by now I'm no pushover. If you want this..." She pretends to be struggling at waist depth for a moment, before smirking, "You're going to have to earn it. You know how to do that." She pauses for a moment, before frowning. "You don't have a fast ride?" She answers, in spite of you remaining silent. "Well that's not good enough of an excuse for me. Here." She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a key, tossing it at you. As you look across to catch the key, you see next to you a highly-modifed BMW M3 GTR, fitted with a wide rear wing, 10-spoke wheels and a striking silver-and-white paint job that appears to be moving while standing still.

"The car wasn't totaled... Cross' friends were able to fix the frame up. So what do you say? One trip down Carbon Canyon. Winner takes all." She winks at you, then a few seconds later chuckles. "That's what I thought. So, think you can still handle all of this car? There won't be a Wingman to help you pass me this time..."

Your world flashes to black for a few moments while your mind is teased with a short loading screen, before you appear behind Nikki- er, Emmanuelle down a windy mountain road. Your view switches from your M3 to Emannuelle's Ford GT back and fourth a few times before you're sent into a cockpit view and the dramatic countdown begins.

Back on topic, I first noted my fascination with Quicksand probably around age 11 or 12. I remember using a Gameshark on my Playstation to keep my health maxed out while I kept Lara Croft under quicksand for extended periods of time in Tomb Raider III. :P Then it... had some kind of weird 'hiatus' phase where nothing really happened. Of course, when I hit puberty, it all came back. The next time I came across quicksand was in Metal Gear Solid 3 and... yeah, I really spent a lot of time in the mudpits there. >.>

Then sometime in 2006, I discovered that there were other people who liked quicksand as much as I did. I was a lurker at Deep Sinking for quite some time. I discovered MPV, and then quicksand in Second Life in 2007 and well... the rest is history, as they say. Well, I enjoy it for what it is - that is, my hands-down favoritest fetish, and that's the way I am! :D

Hi, I'm Matthew, and I'm new here.
I have had thoughts about whether I really like mud or not, but now that I know there is others (thank's to the internet), I know it isn't too strange.
my main problem is finding places. there is one place where there is (almost) bottomless mud, but I have to go visit my grandparents to do that (nothing wrong with visiting grandparents ;) ) most of the places I have found so far are either really shallow, or in plain sight. :x

Welcome here! :)
Don't worry about finding places. Sometimes I found new and cool places, when i explored again my older sinking spots. :)
