Video editing software recommendations?

Are you talking about like, just trimming down scene length so that its just a sinking part? Well whenever I download something from Youtube that is too long for me I just edit it down in Windows Move Maker, but if you don't have that then I don't know what to tell you.

Given the time you will spend on someting like this it would be MUCH cheaper to get a larger drive. For less than 200.00 you can now get them in 2 terrabyte capacity.

Can anyone recommend me a good FREE downloadable video editing program?

I've got a lot of files of quicksand scenes, and they're often 10 minutes in length with like 30 seconds of quicksand. So I want to edit them down (to save on harddrive space) and also edit other scenes to remove inbetween bits.

I just tried the trial version of Blaze Media Pro, but I didn't think it was much good as it saves files of about 30 seconds length as over 1GB (when they started out as like 25MB)! Which obviously defeats the object. Why does it save them as massively bigger files anyway?

I used to use VirtualDub. It's not really a Video editing software though, but rather a sort of re-encoding and video processing toolkit. It can do simple cuts at keyframes if that's all you need, but beyond that you will probably need to look for some other software.

Before I bought Adobe Premier, I used, and still use Videomach.

It's not very expensive and I've found it to be very user friendly and very compatible with a lot of file formats. I still use it for simply stuff when opening and setting up Adobe Premier is not worth the trouble.

I'm sure there's a windows movie maker somewhere, though not sure what formats it would take.
