Lorna Doone (1976, M)

Postby Tim » Tue Nov 16, 2010 1:53 pm

Hi

Never seen any discussion of this scene before, so hope it's a new one. This is from the UK 1976 TV version of Lorna Doone. At the climax, the good guy is fighting the bad guy. They back up onto a marshy area, bad guy starts to sink, and ultimately goes under the muddy water.

Could only get a few frame shots to illustrate, got no way to pull the video.

There have been a few version of Lorna Doone over the years. A recent (2000) version has cropped up, but some of the others may also have this scene, which is straight from the original book.

Glad to add something to contribute. Hope you enjoy.

It's not the same as the 1976 version, but here's a link to a more modern version of the quicksand scene. I hope this works, I have never uploaded a link before ...

Yummy!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

What's odd with that one is that about 30 seconds before the sinking part the camera shows a brief flash of the boggy area and it almost looks like one of the characters recognises it as such. Does it appear anywhere earlier in the movie? Cause to the viewer it didn't look like a dangerous boggy area at all until they stumbled into it.
