Re: Gasoline Humor
Last I looked regular was 3.59/gallon here. Not too bad considering two years ago I went through a few months when my gas bill for the month was bigger then my car payment.

At current exchange rates petrol is a fraction over $10 a gallon over here. That hurts.
And it's going to get worse.

And the asinine reality is there is more gasoline and oil then ever. The price keep being jacked up by speculators.

Re: Gasoline Humor
The good old 99 Honda Civic is back up to 33 mpg or so, thanks to new plugs and an air filter. Even so, I really want to get my woodchip fueled steam powered truck built.
Since I plan to build woodchip powered equipment, I'm going to start with woodchip fueled wood chipper.

The nice thing about most developed nations that aren't the United States is that their cities are a bit more compact, making public transit a viable alternative for most people. Compare that to taking a bus anywhere in Southern California; even with the $4.10-per-gallon fuel costs driving yourself is the better deal.

Re: Gasoline Humor
It took me some time to calculate, because we have no idea what is gallon, and we don't pay in dollars. So, according to my calculations, the price for gasoline with octane number 95 (which most modern cars demand) is $4.69 per gallon. Now compare the salaries and have fun

Precisely. They are all betting there will be an actual shortage but for the moment there is no less oil available than ever before. Much of the high price in many countries reflects insane levels of taxation as well.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.
