I really enjoyed in the running in the mud videos. For whatever part "rubbing" has played in anything I've done I can't recall any specific thing that provided the idea. It just seemed natural that since this was a sexual fetish that some sort of pleasure should be taken in doing it. When you see any video I think really what you are seeing is a reflection of what many in the community wish they were seeing or personally doing. It probably goes much deeper than this for some but to me it's almost logical.

As for getting the ladies involved it's not hard at all. Yes, some performers are professionals and will do just about anything on cue without a second thought. Others just think it is a really interesting or different way to have a good time. Some get turned on at the thought that others are watching and they really like the idea. All are natural exhibitionists and are very uninhibited or they wouldn't be doing this to begin with. We don't have to beg them, nor would we, to do this. Logistics, talent, location, wardrobe, technical stuff, are all far more difficult to manage than just asking the ladies what you would like them to do.

I agree completely with what Duncan has said regarding what models will or won't do and getting them to do it. With the models the key is, without doubt, making very sure they know, prior to being hired, what will be expected. Some models are uncomfortable topless so expectations in that regard are essential to be communicated. Others are grossed out by the idea of getting muddy, by the possible presence of bees or snakes, or whatever. This needs to be discussed before one is assigned to a shoot.

Duncan is also quite correct that issues of logistics, wardrobe, and crew are much more difficult.

The first 'rubbing' scene we did was with Violet. We had logged quite a few miles the day before while looking for locations. During that traveling, she revealed that most of the work she had done up to that point was porn. So I got the idea that we could have her do some explicit arousal stuff. Now, you have to bear in mind that we did arousal responses in '98 and 2000 (this was 2002). But I thought it would be cool to get nasty with it. Anyways, I was pleased with the results. And so we did that sort of material with every model that was suited for it from that point forward.

As far as pitching it to the models went, I would just explain that mud masturbation was an option, and that they would be paid extra for it. We run a professional set, and use mostly professional models. So it's understood that they are under no obligation to do things that are outside their comfort zone, and that we won't sweat them for turning down certain elements. That's definitely one advantage of paying a daily base pay and then going ala carte for 'extras'.

I really do like arousal elements as well as dramatic stuff. It's just like the MPV motto states - "It's not the mud on the women, it's the women in the mud!"

Although I haven't seen "Rubbin' ", I did participate in the filmings of the nighttime torchlight erotic scenes done by PamelaRose, Kristine Lynn and Jenna West. Although those aren't quite as explicit, I don't think the finished scenes left much to the imagination either.

A personal observation:

At one time I wondered why anyone would show anybody having fun in quicksand. Hollywood always showed panic, fear, and possible grim demise and the whole quicksand fantasy seemed wrong to me if a model so much as cracked a smile.

Today, though, the Hollywood thing really seems like the fantasy to me. Torchlight (or "Rubbin' ") on the other hand, seems perfectly believable to me...it's what actually goes on.

i'm actually watching a sasha vid which is fairly explicit and wondered if im not pushing the subject in asking - do the girls actually 'go all the way' for themselves. i know adult films involve a fair bit of acting (ala when sally met harry) and good actresses are gonna be fairly indistinguishable from the real deal but... was it good for them?

ness' comment is intresting too... the girls are having fun in qs and i'm almost disappointed that some of the better qs venues - 'desert mud bath' and 'paris ero' spring to mind - dont have any dramatic shootings in them we've seen yet. i have to fess im a recent convert to the ero/rubbin sets but only cos im a fan of particular types of qs and how it moves round anyone. my curiosity got the better of me when one kinda 'thrashing round' replaced the usual sort!
