I had just gone to bed after a miserable, exhausting day fighting with a misbehaving toilet which had decided to flood my bathroom on a day when I couldn't get a hold of a plumber to fix it. I couldn't even turn off the water because the handle broke. I work for a weekly newspaper, so I had to work that evening to get some of the stories done that I was going to work on that afternoon before my toilet decided to go berserk.
My boss called me and asked if I'd heard the news Bin Laden was dead. Suddenly, I forgot how tired I was. Maybe it wasn't such a bad day after all.
By the way, I was able to get a hold of a plumber who came by on a Sunday. My place is still soggy, but at least it's contained and stabilized.
I had a better day than Bin Laden did. That's something to be happy about.

I'm not saying removing this man from the living was a bad thing, but I think it's just plain morbid to celebrate the violent death of another human.

It's not morbid, it's happy. If he had remotely behaved like a human it might be different. If a rabid dog were chasing my daughter and I shot it I'd feel like celebrating. If the AIDS virus is eliminated I'll celebrate. When Hitler died the world rejoiced. If this vile, murdering, terrorist, filth, had anything good about him I might feel like it was bad taste to do a happy dance over his demise. As it is all he cared about was murdering untold numbers of innocents and causing as much hate and disharmony between Islam and the rest of the world to support his own deranged vision.
Celebrate? Crap, I baked a cake.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

You have a right to your opinion.
I don't consider him anywhere near human.
He planed 911 because there were American Solders on Saudi Arabia soil defending his home country. He was given a dignified burial only so it would not incite
other radical elements. It was way more then he deserved.

I'll second that. I would have pitched him a wood chipper.
Alive.
With a smile on my face.

Smear it with honey, lash it to the ground, and turn it over to the ants is what I had in mind. But the Navy dealt with it just fine by shooting it in its head.

I heard they buried him at sea. I hope they didn't spend precious taxypayer funds on a coffin. We don't need to add any extra pollutants to the ocean, and sharks do need to eat.
And now we have "deathers". Just as there are people who don't believe in Obama's birth certificate ("birthers"), a new crop of folks have sprung up who think that, like Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison, Bin Laden isn't really dead ("deathers").
This idea is just nowhere near as awesomely cool as an Elvis sighting.
I'm not particularly eager to see any death photos, since I don't like gross stuff, but then again, what with having a professional background that includes Adobe Photoshop, if I really want a gory death photo, I know enough to just create a beautiful screenful of blood and guts in the privacy of my own home to enjoy.
And what that means is that if death photos do appear, they would prove nothing and nobody would be convinced.
I'm convinced, though. I don't honestly believe that I've been lied-to. And, being convinced that he is gone, convinced of it with no doubt in my brain at all, I am glad that he is gone, and I don't feel guilty about being glad he's gone, and...
If the sharks got fed, I'm happy for them too.
