There's a song by a group called The Youngbloods noting quicksand. In fact, that's the title of the song.

Quicksand by The Youngbloods (Copyright 1969)

Quicksand closing in around my eyes
Quicksand forcing me to realize
Nothing that I see
Can get through this wall to me
This wall of quicksand closing in around my mind
Quicksand and I'm losing track of time
Sinking like a stone
All the dreams that I have ever known
Sinking into quicksand closing in around my heart
Quicksand teaching me further poems
From the things I feel
All that it can steal, taken and concealed
Not to be revealed about quicksand
From the things I feel
All that it can steal taken and concealed
Not to be revealed about quicksand
Talking about quicksand
Singing about quicksand

And I was saved…I was saved by a flying wild-man in a loincloth…- Jane

Piestasters did one as well titled *drumroll* Quicksand

I thought it was infatuation, I couldn't find the bridges behind me
Here today, gone tomorrow, never thinking loving wouldn't find me
Now my fee is love, I'm after, my courts show the walls of disaster 'cause

Love is like quicksand, I'm sinking deeper and deeper baby
But the mountain of my mistakes, is looking steeper and steeper baby

I will solve the things to loving, and it was a case of taking or leaving
So I crossed it off as usual, your love came, I couldn't believe it
So like a child who plays with fire, I'm going after my own desire, 'cause

Can't you see I'm sinking baby, come on help me now, help me now,
Come on help me now, help me now
This is more than just flirtations, sure it's not a hopeless situation
'cause
And I was saved…I was saved by a flying wild-man in a loincloth…- Jane

Capitalism is a political system that if based upon the wrong philosophical base, is like a towering skyscraper, built on quicksand.
