I do not remember the name of the comic where they exit the scene with quicksand but I remember reading some time ago in a thrift store: The scene is a woman surrounded by wild and sinking in quicksand, then scare or kill the protagonist (not I remember it well) and throws a cable to rescue her, the curious thing about this scene is the "woman" was actually a female centaur and asks if she has missed seeing her

Victordraw0 : That would be Claw the Unconquered #3. The 1975 era DC version, not the more recent one by Wildstorm.
