One thing that I remember since childhood from 'Born Free' by Joy Adamson is that the elephants rather often get stuck in bogs.

I think it's interesting that you put this in off-topic. It's actually not off-topic for quicksand, as it involves exactly that, but then again, we are a fetish board and elephants don't do it for me.
Although I like elephants. I like them very much.
