Had a fun thought for the producers here where there might be a inspiriation for a video here.
What most interesting object can we think of to be used to be used to help rescue someone out of quicksand other than the obvious rope? Like what were the two doing to get themselves in that situation and what were they doing with such a object as well at that particular location.
Like a pool cue for example. Another example could be a couple suit cases. One gal is in quicksand and the other is rummaging through the suit cases to rescue her friend pulling out a whole slew of comocial items that obiously will not work. Also two gals and one has a magician suit case. True in a case like this budget will come into play as to how many and the type of things that can be used.
Fishing gear could come into play as well.
Offbeat items like this that help tell the story. What else can we come up with?

Re: Rescue objects...
Obvious: a ladder (helps to spread the weight), a plank or few planks (for the same purpose). Do we look for something that can be found occasionally? OK, a section of a fence, broken out of the fence with a purpose of saving the life.
A shovel. Might be necessary. If not to dig, then to spread the weigh. Or to pull.
A paddle (kayakers' answer for quicksand threat)
A hunting gun (hunters' answer for quicksand threat)
Both were more than once successfully used in real life
Oh, are we interested in helpless damsels only? A floaty! Two bikini clad girls take a shortcut for a beach and got stuck you know where. One of them manages to crawl out, the second sinks deeper and deeper and is going to drown. The first gal inflates a floaty that was hidden in a bag, and saves her fried! Hooray for unconventional solutions!

There’s so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

But we live in different ones

A human chain of naked Playboy Centerfolds.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

A steel girder.
I know, that could pose a few problems. That's exactly why nobody has tried it before.

Visit me at the Great Swamp, but watch your step on the way there!

Re: Rescue objects...
A bowling ball might serve the same purpose as the steel girder, at less expense. I've done at least one scene where the rescue device was an act of magic rather than a tangible device. Also, the head and shoulders of a previous victim has been done several times. Another scene we did a while back involved a self rescue using an inflatable bra.
I think the dog and leish idea is the best so far though, unless there is any chance of getting a cat to do it.

How 'bout a low hanging branch and some fishing line? (not that the model uses the branch to pull up, but rather to pull her to the edge)

Hmmm, dunno about the midget but winching a wench sounds illegal or at least highly questionable, and wenching a winch sounds extremely hazardous, not to mention potentially painful. lol
