I love all these ideas. Maybe a producer could use some. However here's one idea by combining two suggestions.
Ok have a dog come with the leash/rope and just as the dog comes within reach of the sinking model a cat comes running by.
This could have one of two endings. First the model just misses the rope/leash as the dog takes off after the cat.
Second just as the model grabs hold the cat comes running by and the dog takes off therefore pulling the sinking model out. However having a dog big enough to do that could pose a challenge though as the model has the rope/leash and as the dog tries to take off the model wiggles her way out gradually.
Also here's one for when she misses the leash/rope and the dog and cat take off. Then the owner of the cat comes by asking "Have you seen a cat around here?" seemingly oblvious to the models predicament.

Or would that be winching a wench?

Heck, have Ken throw 'em an anchor. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

My weenie-beanie, rest her furry soul, is willing to work with your (still living, I presume) kitty-cat on this. Together they'll have the strength to succeed.

But not to leave out the pet I have now, for a grimmer ending, a small white albino rat will be seen nibbling through the rope.

How about using a bungie cord to try to pull someone out of quicksand.

I can see this working for a comedy type sketch--every time the model goes under the bungee cord rebounds and pulls her back up. She keeps almost drowning.

Here's one thought that could be played out in one of two ways. It uses a length of hose.
One could be two lady gardeners that wind up in quite a mess as they spruce up a clients property. One gal stumbles into some quicksand and the other uses various garden tools (rake, shovel, etc) before resorting to the hose.
The other is two gal fire fighters. One situation could be they both wind up in the quicksand and both use the hose to pull themselves out which is still hooked up to the pumper or hydrant. The other is just one gets stuck and the other uses the hose for the rescue. One obsticle in this is the type of props. I realize it's not that easy for one to get their hands on a fire truck or even a fire hydrant much less even a lenght of fire hose. Also how much of a fire fighter wardrobe would these gals require for this video? In full gear that oculd be cumbersome in both trying to pull some one out of quicksand muchless being in it.

The butt or barrel of a rifle or shotgun. 'Nuff said.
