Wanted - Realistic (Radio Shack) Stereo

Postby Duncan Edwards » Sun Nov 27, 2011 6:36 pm

Anybody got an old Realistic (Radio Shack) Stereo receiver they want to part with? Specifically I'm looking for an STA-77 but there are several old models from the '70's that I'd be interested in. These things were once common and are filling up closets and basements now. I need one and an old pair or Realistic speakers as well. Preferably Nova 7's. Anybody? 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Thanks but I found what I wanted on Ebay. I was just thinking that since these things filled many a junk room that somebody here might have one to get rid of. Right after I purchased a vintage Realistic STA-77 and a pair of Nova 7b speakers I was offered a couple of different models from people at work. I've got them on my workbench since they all needed minor repairs of various kinds.

The reason for this is because of an update to my "man cave" and a mid life crisis. Some guys get a mistress, sports car, Harley, etc. I get new roller skates and the stereo that mom talked me out of buying when I was 13.

Now if I could just get the girls at the skating rink to get a "Farrah" hair style. 8-)

Hey Duncan glad you found what you were looking for.
That could be an interesting concept for a video. A married guy is having a midlife crisis and while on the internet he discovers the world of women and quicksand. He purchases several videos in the story. Then one day his wife decides to surprise him.
She takes him to a undisclosed location where she says she has a surprise for him. Then to his surprise she procedes to do a sink just for him in some quicksand. As she sinks he asks "How'd you know?" and she replies something like that she "peaked at his videos" and got the idea that way.
Ok maybe a little hookey I admit.
