Not in those first 10 pages, no. There's the rest of the book to do so though.

That's true. It's just you said "It does, at least at the beginning" so figured there was some sinking at the beginning.
Also, the story starts in a swamp but I presume they'll be going on some adventure so that will get left behind. But if you like the humour it might be worth reading anyway, regardless of sinkiness.
