The odds are against Vancouver, since Quick is a far better goaltender. He has easily been a match for Luongo and Schneider, if not better. Pittsburgh has the better chance , but right now they could use some goaltending of their own. They pounded Bryzgalov flat , and just to make certain the point was hammered in, then did the same to Bobrovsky. But they sure could use some of Fleury's regular season stuff right now. You don't get to have a bad day now, you lose, its over

Washington steals a win 2-1 with an outstanding performance from their goaltender. Braden Holtby was just fantastic, being outshot 45-21 and literally made a save at the buzzer to earn the win. Series tied 2-2 with Boston

Marty Brodeur looked a lot like the older model tonight, stoning the Panthers 4-0 to even their series as well. Less gong show last few games, more hockey. Hope the message getting through

And another OT game in Chicago, and same result ; Phoenix wins 3-2 to take Chicago to the brink. Yet another game with Mike Smith making crucial saves while being outshot badly

In the playoffs, success almost always hinges on the goalie.... :)

It sure does :)

Goaltending is becoming a big thing in the St Louis series, with Brian Elliot performing solid yet again in a 2-1 victory, taking St Louis to a 3-1 series lead over San Jose. Not bad for coming on in relief in last game for Halak who is still out banged up.

Just 2 games last night, Pittsburgh wins again to stay alive still down 3-2 in the series.

And , Nashvile finishes off Detroit with a solid 2-1 victory with Pekka Rinne turning in another great performance in net. Nashville the first team to advance to round 2

The Preds, wow! Never thought they'd take out the Wings that quick considering the depth in Detroit. Lots of speculation as to whether or not Lidstrom played his last game.

Mike Fisher is playing like Carrie's going to 'reward' him for his efforts. As long as he doesn't cheat on her he should be ok, and so should his pretty lil' suped up 4 wheel drive.

Well, they are the #4 seed, so they aint chopped liver. Aside from motovation :D they got some speedy young talent and earned a seat in the 2nd round. Who that is, is a guess at then moment. I could guess, but there still games to play.

Afternoon series over, Washington scored a late pp goal to edge Boston 4-3 to take a 3-2 series lead. Game 6 goes tomorrow evening in an unusual back to back series.

Shanny has been heard and, as expected a big one; 25 games for Torres, which effectively is the entire playoffs and carryover into next years' regular season .
