There isn't actually a quicksand scene in the John Brunner novel "Treibsand"(sold in Britaim under the title "Quicksand"); the story is about time-travelling girl from a dystopian future.Just though you ought to know.
"Aaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh! Quicksand! I'm sinking! I'll go straight to the bottom of.......GLURP!"
(a month later)
"Ugh! Yukkkh! Ptui! I'm out of it! I'm free! Not even quicksand can defeat the power of.....the Eye of Zoltec!"

Thanks for the info. I wasn't holding my breath, considering the movie Quicksand also had none... :)

A search via Google Images finds a lot of artwork based on the characters in the last image. They must be popular.

The image shown looks like it may be fan art, and not part of a storyline. Some deeper searching is required here to find out for sure.
