Disney Buys Lucasfilm, Plans Three New Star Wars Movies

Nice 4.05 billion dollar feather in Lucas's cap. Disney's planning on releasing Episode VII in 2015. Wonder if they'll base the new trilogy off one of the book series or come up with something original?

I hope Disney gets it right and completes the final Trilogy with the respect Star Wars deserves

After episodes 1 - 3 I don't think the franchise deserves much respect at all.

Still Disney did pretty good with The Avengers etc. so maybe this could work... not sure where they will take this, though...

Personally, the original trilogy is just perfect for me.

Yeah they are going to make 9 total, about every 3 or so years...The new one in 2015 is episode 7, so we can sssume it takes place AFTER the Empire has crumbled....this is what SHOULD have been done in the 90's instead of those ridiculous prequels that I do not even count as movies. They were BORING as could be..a total insult to the original trilogy. And now, Disney + Star Wars sounds like a bad idea, and it will be all glitz-and-glamor big bucks CGI (I felt the puppet Yoda was WAY more realistic than the CGI one etc..), but if they foucs on making a hell of a good plot, and believable enviornment that's what we want...special effects are fine, but it was the way the whole star was universe just sort of had so much believability to it, it made you feel like this really happened.)I suspect the new plot will have to revolve around some kind of re-emergence of the empire and the rebel alliance fighting to keep it from taking over. Remember...we never saw the Emperor's dead body...we cant' assume he died when the Death Star blew up...and keep in mind, Vader's spirit is still alive (in terms of the force) so why could he not return back to the darkside?
Also, Lucas has sold rights to Disney for future Indiana Jones films. You gotta figure Harrison will be gone; he's just too old. Temple of Doom was his Tour De Force...the others ones sucked sorry to say.

I have a hard time seeing the downside of any business decision that takes Lucas out of the Star Wars creative process. I'm thankful he gave birth to the baby, but someone should have called CPS on him before he ever got the chance to raise the child.
