Whoahh! That is quite an experience! I'm glad you're okay although when you have to slip out of your boots, that's pretty stuck! I'm glad you had a good time, though!

No, there's no NovemBRR thread this year. I really hit the video thing hard this summer...I worked my muddy heinie off, especially with the models...and I need some "Me Time" in the mud and now is it.

I only sink in the same Massivian mudpit that I filmed at all winter anyway, and it's the same pair of waders...the same old everything...really this cold-weather season looks just about the same every single year I do it no matter where I do it. I'm also on research and development for more sites for next year. This means going to new places with a long "walking stick" for sticking into new mudpits...and if the thing goes in more than a couple feet, I'll be putting it on the list for spring.

I did take a snapshot of the Massivian mudpit (the file date says October 24th). I sank in it after I shot it. And I've been there once since then.

Here it is...my "quicksand movie set" for the entire summer. Wow, what a difference. All those yellow bog flowers are dead and there's a shallow layer of water on top and there is guck floating on it. Everything's brown...dead...cold.

Depressing, isn't it?

Nessie, i'm a big fan of this "morbid autumnal mood" those bogs have in late fall. Imagine that area in the dusk, add some fog and soon you will hear the Hound....

I'm a fan of the fact that the bugs are all dead and the mudpit, despite its brown exterior, actually functions exactly the same. And since I can't shoot anyway (at least saleably), I can do anything I want!

There are a few hounds on the trails during the daytime, actually. When going to and from a sinking session, you'll never be questioned if you smile at the hound, pat him on the head if he's friendly, and compliment the owner.
