Salton Sea - Columbus Day Sink

Seeing some postings about Salton Recently and what apear to be some guys who have made it out there to sink and play in the mud pots.

Hoping to make a trip over columbus day weekend . would be ideal to join up with another guy to go sinking togther.

Thinking about making another trip back out there in late April or early May as have noticed on youtube that to the west of the Schripf/Davis Rd area there is new mud pots and volcanoes popping up as the water level of the Salton Sea is dropping exposing them. Looks like you might have to walk a mile or so from where you park unless you have a 4 wheel drive but that can make it more secluded too. Cleanup would be about the same other than you could take a quick dip into the sea to get clean enough to get back in your vehicle. Anyone been to these newly exposed pots please update with your observation
