Re: Yet More Comic Book Sinking Scenes
Here's something from my archives. From a Belgian comic called Papyrus, about an Egyptian kid and the Pharoah's daughter he hangs out with, having adventures. Here, while exploring a supposedly abandoned city, the pair fall victim to a muddy trap. This is the Dutch language edition, in case you were wondering.

Yeah... it is a favorite of mine.

I have discovered there is an animated series based on the comic, so there's a chance this scene may exist. There are episodes on Youtube, so when I get the chance, I'll do some research to see if I can find it, if it exists. Let's hope.

Note the way they translated one of the stage directions into English instead of Dutch - or translated from Belgian to Dutch via English and forgot one bit.
In order to make an apple pie from scratch you first have to create the universe.

Translation is a tricky business... even when dealing with languages having the same latin roots.

Here's a story from a Canadian comic... it is what it is... but does feature two folks pulled down in quicksand.

That first one with the lady being consumed by chattering teeth reminds me of a scene from Doctor Who, where a man was being consumed by a pit of skulls!
