I can't wait till I can afford property with privacy. I have a yard big enough to dig my own pit now but the lot is on a corner and in full view of two fairly busy streets and there would just be no way to hide the thing lol.

In response to Fred's talking about polls, he said something like the people who buy from producers "would probably not" be the people who would participate much in a poll. Why not? I do not follow that line of reasoning. I also disagree with saying the people on the forum are not a representative sample of the QS population. This IS the QS population. So I actually argue the exact opposite--it is as representative as you can get. It's double-blind, randomized, and would obviously be comprised of voters who buy, and don't buy. Even if slants toward one side, it's still randomized.
Even if it turned out that you are correct, taking polls still would give at least a decent indicator of what at least a fair number of members are looking for. I see you put a poll- that's good, but I have to admit it was pretty confusing. I didn't know how to vote....like comedic and erotic and dramatic with camera? All in the same poll?
I would suggest dissecting it more. Have more specific polls. Like a "time poll"--how long do we like scenes? Then a costume poll, and rescue vs. non -rescue poll etc, and other detailed polls of that nature.

At the risk of falling into the same trap I warned about in another thread today, what I said (or intended to say) was that the people who respond to a poll conducted within a forum such as this cannot be assumed to be representative of anything except of the people who respond to the poll. While it is true that the membership of a forum probably IS representative of the people interested in the topic of the forum, that does not help much. Even if the only people who responded to a poll about videos were people interested in videos, that still does not help because not everyone interested in videos is equally likely to respond. The term "double blind" has no actual meaning in this context and the sample cannot be assumed to be randomized, despite the assertion that it does.

Polls can be fun. I have one going right now, for that purpose. But they should not be used to make any conclusions about any population other than those who actually reply. But bear in mind that I really do believe we went to the moon.

Fight the good fight. ;)

Anyone can create a poll if they want. If rickyj has questions he feels might produce useful results he can put them out there should he so desire.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I am posting less - not because of less interest, but because of less time. Also, the newness of such a great site as this generated a lot of initial response - this has worn off. There is a core of good posters - I am on the fringe, a bit. The site has improved over the last several years, in terms of what is available to view and discuss, to the video ordering sites - much more variety. I think it is a natural evolution of a maturing venue. I hope it stays around a good long time because it is the best site ever on this QS topic.

Yes. Remember how excited we all were when we found us?

Since then, the Internet has made all things accessible. We can't expect a big reaction from new fans any more.

"Oh, my God!!! You mean somebody else likes that crazy thing that I like?!?! I'm so excited! Wow! I can't believe it! All these people are just like me!"

(Immediate registration. Group hug...)

"Quicksand Fans, here I am...and I LOVE YOU ALL!"

Now it's like this:

After half an hour on Google, they mutter:

"Yup. I knew it. After I bumped into the balloon fetish site, the acne fans and the furries, I figured somebody out there must have done quicksand."

They register and click around. Many, I am sure, are quietly happy to have found us. However, it's a restrained gratitude. Instead of announcing their presence, they open the door quietly and settle in without comment.

I'm sure we also get a lot more of:

"I want a hi-def video of a 24.345-year-old model with a half-shaved head of burgundy hair sinking in pink peat while wearing leather biking shorts and a lime green halter top while licking a popcicle. Hey...it's not here. Really? Why not? On YouTube, it's all free."

Someone should get to work on making this video.

I'll put it down for my comeback in ten or fifteen years.

Hmmm, if the peat can be scarlett instead of pink I'll get right on it.

Lol, Gentlemen, we are back in business. XD
It seems like the site could just use an update, would likely help... but I find the main thing I've noticed is that the people with the talent some of us watch have gone quiet... It seems like everyone's falling on tough times lately... I've been on the long drag for two years now... ^^;
