From my perspective there really wasn't much to it. JT and Foster decided to rename their place "Quicksand Kiddie Land" and anyone with an adult interest in the subject vacated the premises. Sorry but the words "fetish" and "kid friendly" don't belong in the same sentence, let alone on the same internet forum. You'd be less likely to get sued opening a King Cobra petting zoo.
How and how fast it went down makes me thing something, possibly legal, was happening behind the scenes but we were never given a good reason as to why it happened.

Inaccurate and misleading dribble.

Yes, indeed, but imaginations run riot when left to fill in the blanks.

Well, there's the irony, because the only real blank was actually filled earlier in this topic.

I had “DeviantArt” in mind when I said that.

That was not an isolated incident.

I agree with Nessie and Whizbang.

I was hit by that also, some well known artist thought it best to play art police and rip on art that he felt was inferior to his.

After all, HE was the professional artist. That "gave" him the authority to attack.

That went on for a bit until the “artist” left the forum.

This post is going to end bad. Fact of the matter is who cares? We have a better home now that is continuously getting more new members. We get more content here than that other forum. I remember the whole cement scene that did engulf the girl did bring up some uproar. But the fact of the matter is, I don't want to know what the real reason was why it ended. I'm happy here. The producers call the shots. And just overall seems more friendly. I

I see it as a bad break up. It sucked when Deepsinking went away. We didn't know what would happen. But now, we have something worth keeping. Worth Fighting for. And to be honest, I commend those producers involved that got Quicksandfans up and running so fast. That was a feat in itself. Deepsinking has a special place in my heart, but I dont think of the downfall too often nor care. On to Bigger and Better and deeper and muddier things.

Every now and then a thread appears that pokes at a scab that should JUST BE LEFT ALONE.

I got plenty thoughts on the peckerheads who did what they did; I have never bothered with airing them, and aint about to. Just close it out

I'm with Kham on this one.

I'm still a member of DS, but barely contribute anymore. I got soured on it when one of the monitors (who I won't name) sent me a very condescending email objecting to one of my fakes, feeling the person in it was too young. I didn't object to them removing the image - that's their prerogative - but I did take exception to the email, which implied some nasty things about me.

Anyway, water under the bridge, as what others have said before me.

I had “DeviantArt” in mind when I said that.

Ouch, I couldn't even think about it. DeviantART is a broad artistic society which has nice islands of friendship, creativity, and development of common interests (not to mention development of skills). I wouldn't say that a Quicksand group and several other peril-oriented groups that tolerate quicksand stuff formed such an island or islands there. I'd say, they are just places to dump images. There are virtually no discussions, no contests, or other joint activities. The only exception is, I'd say, the StuckFetish group, the sister group to Sticky-Site, but quicksand never was a significant part of interests of that community (despite the Sticky-Site hosted QSA's, Acid Tester's and Merlyn's galleries in the past). Of course, there are many good artists on DeviantART, and people tend to concentrate around them. But no, there is nothing like a quicksand forum there.

However, I stay corrected - I had forgotten to mention Quicksandland.com and related 'PsychicWorld' in my previous post. The places that can develop into something big, but they didn't yet.

I'm not aware of any QS forum or community of note on deviantART.
