Chapter 2 for the Ruger 1911 Commander Model; worked in a lot more here, nearly zero magazine problems, and none at all with the issue mags. It is a beauty

Nice. If someone came to me and said they wanted to only buy ONE handgun (God knows why they would be that silly but we're just talking hypothetically) I would point them in the direction of an M1911. Ruger, Springfield or Colt you can't go wrong. Personally I'd rather have the full size though.

Think he mentioned its a good size as a carry gun, which is a little harder for a full size 1911. Like the bit where he says about get it good and dirty and THEN see how it does feeding hollowpoints. Which apparently went without incident.

Yea, if it's going to jam it will be on a JHP. The edge of the cavity will catch on the feed ramp. Shouldn't be a problem on anything modern though.
Stop watching movies and go buy one. From what I know of Canadian law you guys are allowed to have pistols just have to do a butt load of paperwork and take a test first.

Yeah, there's course and paperwork and usual stuff. That is a pricey pistol too, think it's a bit north of 800 bucks new. Least I don't think the ammo would be hard to get for it, I don't feel like diving into handloading all at once unless visiting Tennessee and seeing hickock first

**Interesting little note on most of the Ruger Pistols, they all seem to about the same price; their .44s are a little more, in the thousand dollar range, but that's the Redhawk and Super Blackhawks, which are built to 16-inch gun standards

$800 isn't unreasonable. The Ruger is pretty close to my Springfield "Loaded" model (got mine for $800 out the door) in that it's a factory gun that incorporates a lot of features people would have done custom after buying a standard model (full length guide rod, skeletonized trigger/hammer, night sights). I think the basic Colt Government model goes for $650-$700.
