I do not disagree in the slightest from Duncan's response. My previous post wasa meant only to comment on the broad thesis originally espoused.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Through a series of school changes from a high school that required a year of world history to one that did not, combined with a personal distaste for history in general (one damned fact after another), followed by a technical university that offered broad leeway in how to satisfy social science requirements, well, you can guess the rest.

I know this comes as heresy to someone who majored in the subject but there it is.

I have seriously considered studying for the Western Civilization Parts I and II CLEP examinations using http://www.passyourclass.com/clep_products.html#civ1 and taking them just to correct this personal deficiency in my knowledge.

I'll let the resident scholar straighten you out on this one.

Who has time for sex when you spend all your time not already spent working, eating, or sleeping ... getting ready for church, commuting to church, attending church, commuting from church, or recovering from church?

that seemingly endless article on Judaism and Homosexuality that QuicksandMania stumbled upon wrote:
Men, not women, engage in fetishes.

He said what?

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!

That was Nessie's "Holy Crappoly, Bullcookies and Baloney!" alarm!

(Equally bullcookie-laden is the idea stated later in the article that homosexuality in males reduces the status of women in society. What a load of utter hogwash! Straight men aren't going to need or value women any the less if homosexuality is accepted. This is because one's sexual orientation tends to be fairly well-fixed, so, whatever gay men are doing tends to be irrelevant to straight males (and vice versa). Anyway, accepting homosexuality is accepting sexual diversity, which I would tend to think would naturally spread to acceptance of both genders. But all that isn't very relevant to this board. I pooped out on reading this a bit after that.)

I thought the article gave a decent insight into the (wrongheaded) mindset that would oppose our particular "interest" and demand that we "cure" it and this is why I posted it. I am sure there are other examples that approach from a completely different angle, e.g. secularists who claim our videos "exploit" models (usually women but sometimes men), etc. Sometimes these forces join from opposite ends of the cultural spectrum to become "strange bedfellows" and oppress people like us. Forewarned is forearmed. Clearly our enemies make assumptions and form theories without adequate research. I am sure if they did create a "cure" they would force us to take it "for our own good and that of society" and, of course, to keep us inside their narrow comfort zones.

I rather thought you were exposing some dumb-headedness.

I don't get that mindset either. That mindset seems convinced that only men enjoy sex, fetish or erotica. If women participate in it for any reason, they can't possibly really want to be doing it; all that sex and fetish stuff is a man thing, not a woman thing.

I was on Fetlife long enough to find out definitively that I am not the only woman who indulges in fetish.

As for video: It would be true that when models are involved, money is involved. But when it's a car commercial, it's never called "exploitation".

It's just "business".

Haven't followed the thread--I hardly ever come into this part of the forum, even though I keep telling myself I should, but regardless, here goes:

I have a whole swarm of fetishes. If a cure existed, some way to get rid of them, would I take it?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Fuck no. They're a part of me. None of them harm anyone else, and really, they don't even harm me. I love long, shiny boots, I love leather, I love latex, and high heels, and tight jeans, and long shiny opera-gloves, and bondage, and all the other things that turn the already-awesome body of a woman into an incredible work of art. I love quicksand and mud and sinking, I love the sensation of sticky, snug earth slowly swallowing me in a warm embrace and the fantasies that play out in my mind when I sink. Not every partner I've ever had has understood, and it's ended some relationships, but in spite of that, I don't feel any urge to become "normal," whatever the hell that is. I'm a mutant, you're a mutant, we're all mutants here. I'm comfortable with that. And I would feel as if getting rid of them was getting rid of characteristics that defined me.

And I couldn't. I'm not capable of it.
