Shiver me timbers lass! You're superstructure is rigged fore and aft like a Caribbean dream! Drop all them sheets around your legs and see if ye float across this boggy deck! I'm swearing on Davy Jones locker that I'll pull ye out. Really I yam.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Pirates is always talking in the present tense. Any man uses the future or the pluperfect, he dies where he stands.

So I went into Krispy Kreme dressed in ripped jeans and an old BDU blouse and spoke in my best Somali accent, and what did I get? Nothing.

If you're into Pirates, the 1990 TNT version of "Treasure Island"is available on DVD. Can't say enough good about this version. Charlton Heston as Long John Silver and a (very) young Christian Bale as Jim Hawkins.

Comedy= Tragedy + Time. We think old timey pirates are cool because they're not running at US with a blunderbuss in each hand and their hair on fire for added effect. People from the era probably found them much less amusing.
