In college, we used the Arrow and the F-106 as case studies on the different applications of the area rule on delta-wing aircraft. I ended up falling a little in love with the Arrow.

Some things from old books, in the olde pre-internet days

Others from Being There while young and stupid, working on the silly things over 30 years ago

There's nothing silly about the F-104 . . .Possibly the best looking jet fighter ever built. I remember having a squadron exchange with 439 squadron of the CAF while I was based in Germany, and their distinctive engine "Howl"
had to be heard to be believed. The F-104 has since become my favourite airplane of the 60's and 70's. ( love the photo, by the way )
