Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox

Postby Fred588 » Wed Oct 30, 2013 10:23 pm

The Boston Red Sox have just won the World Series. Last year they finished last and this year first. And the last time they won the series at home, Babe Ruth was on the team.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 20 different producers. Info may be found at:

Prior to 2013, the BoSox had lost the Series twice to the Cardinals, in 1946 and 1967.

The 1946 Series saw the Cardinals employing a special "shift" to counter Ted Williams. The shift, which had been designed and first used by Cleveland Indians' manager Lou Boudreau, had the effect of limiting Williams, the greatest hitter of his day, to a batting average of .200 in the 1946 World Series.

It's said Fenway Park is haunted by the ghosts of Red Sox fans still waiting for Williams to do something in the '46 Series.

I do believe the Curse of the Bambino is dead. Now, when the Red Sox collapse late in a season, we'll have to blame it on more mundane things like bad hitting, inept fielding, or pitchers who couldn't throw strikes to save their lives :D

Now. let's see if the Chicago Flubs...er, Cubs can break the curse of the Billy Goat. As Steve Goodman noted in his song, "The Dying Cub Fan's Last Request":

The law of averages says
Anything will happen that can.
But the last time the Cubs won a National League pennant,
Was the year we dropped the bomb
On Japan.

What an analogy!

You mean prior to 2004 right? Because The Sox beat the Cardinals in the 2004 World Series after coming back 0-3 to beat the Yankees in the ALCS

Oh the spin-o-rama types getting all wet in panties since they won at home. The curse was dead in spades with that Yankee series when the drove a spike right through the asshole's eye socket. Couldnt have happened to a nicer team

   I forgot about that. 2004 was the same year my Arizona Dingbats went 51-111, so perhaps I was tyring to blot out that year from my memory. I remember 2007, when the BoSox wiped out the Colorado Rockies, 4 games to 0, but I'd forgotten about 2004. Thanks for setting me straight.
