Kate Upton Floating

Postby Duncan Edwards » Tue Feb 18, 2014 10:26 pm

Kate Upton in zero G for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition 50th anniversary. Reminds me of some other floating photo shoots I've been a part of but only different. This is beautiful. Check out video of the shoot here -

For those wondering about the relative size of the orbs in that picture, the yellow ball is actually the sun.

Looks like they did more or less ok on the parabola :) Although a couple of the crew seemed to be fighting the effects

That is seriously cool.... :D

Makes one wonder if a zero-G quicksand/mud scene is possible. The next frontier indeed... ;)

Er, no. Zero-g quicksand would transgress against the laws of physics, which are quite strict.

Actually, I have long had an idea for a story about quicksand in space. Called "One Unfortunate Step for a Man." And I LIKE that title, so hands off, OK?

Actually.....if you could somehow suspend the mud in the middle of a zero g room, and keep it from moving (?tractor beam?), you could theoretically "sink" in it by pulling yourself inside. Also no gravity=no buoyancy. Submersions would be easy.
I thought about this way too hard.......

I work with people who fly experiments on this vehicle. One of them participates in a discussion forum for the topic. He said some woman on the list lambasted the whole idea of this supermodel photo session on a science vehicle. Boo-hoo. I bet she's just jealous.

I'm getting worried about the lot of you. There's a mind blowingly beautiful and scantily clad young lady floating in the air and we're getting way too much dork in this thread. I expected a lot more juvenile innuendo and lustful comments. What's wrong with you people?

This particular "science" vehicle also flies tourists in Las Vegas. Beyond that I will never understand why people have to act like men and women are the same. Equal before the law, equal in respect and love as human beings, but not the same. It's fundamental to the human adventure. That's how we all got here.

I love the headline on "serious" spaceflight website Parabolic Arc - Kate Upton…Zero Gravity…Bikini…Va-Va-Voom!
