80% Receiver FAIL.....Rebel Arms WIN
So the 80% lower project turned into a complete bust.....literally.....the one lower we successfully managed to assemble cracked in half after 5 mags. Other three broke during machining. Salvaged the parts off the one I built, was going to go for an el-cheapo ATI Omni polymer lower but found this instead. Apparently a new AR manufacturer sprung up right in my backyard.
Cool as hell to not only have something made in my home state but less than two hours drive from my doorstep. Might have to go back to them for the rest of the parts.

Sucks having the original plan not work, but having the new supplier just down the road is pretty handy. Hopefully all goes well

Warning to anybody who bought an 80% lower receiver from EP Armory in Bakersfield, CA- the BATFE raided their facility and the owner's home. So odds are the Feds now have your name and address. Please share in any gun groups you may be a member of.
FYI Ares Armor in Oceanside, CA has been threatened by the BATFE to hand over their customer lists or be raided. They have a temporary restraining order, but I don't trust the BATFE to obey the order. So if you're a customer of theirs, here's a heads-up of what's coming.

Illegal weapons huh? Hahaha.....nice try guys. Last time I looked a chunk of aluminum wasn't considered a weapon.
A lower receiver is legal to posess in all 50 states anyway. It's only certain features of the AR-15 platform that are banned not the firearm itself. The AR platform is not just cheap, reliable and powerful, it's also great for trolling.
Remember the NY SAFE act? Hahaha.....yup still legal assholes. Keep trying.
