For 2015 the usual suspects of Hanks and Spielberg, with Graham Yost also in the project. Based on Donald L. Miller’s nonfiction book Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany Hopefully they spend some tine on all the elements of the 8th, which absolutely has to include the fighters; the bomber always gets through is a fiction that needs kicked in the balls, and the proper history addressed. Some little guy called Jimmy Doolittle had something to do with that

Massive budget, so hopefully they do it justice for the proper scale

I loved the Band of Brothers and The Pacific series, and hope they do this one justice.

In a perfect world, all aspects of the armed services would get their due, too... Lord knows there's enough material...

Can you imagine the Navy getting a Band of Brothers type series? Like one centered on a carrier or carrier group? A Navy or Marine Air Corps squadron? Or a single ship or submarine? Or a series on the Army Air Corps such as a fighter bomber squadron? The list is endless.... and I'd watch all of them.

Oh, no question; the submarine service has been pretty much overlooked, and the exploits of guys like Dick O'Kane, Howard Gilmore, and Sam Dealey just to name a few could make up their own series'. Likewise some of the aviators, VF-17, the original Jolly Rogers (and the first to use the F4U operationally - take that hollywood ) under Tommy Blackburn, running up an 8-1 kill ratio in 5 months of combat. None of their stories need 'hollywooding' to be 'better'

If you're interested in the "silent service" read some of the books by a guy named Edward L. Beach (Jr.) He was a career submariner, and wrote the novel that became the movie "Run silent, run deep." (1958, Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster.) His fiction and nonfiction are awesome.
