Doesn't the board prompt you for your username and password if you try submitting a post after the forum times out? Also, wouldn't your long reply be in your browsing history (or at least be there during that session only if you have the browser set to clear history upon closing)? After I submit this reply and get taken to the updated thread, I can click the back button, and return to this editing page containing the text I typed (of course, if I wanted to edit and repost it, I would just click on the edit button in my post instead, otherwise I would wind up with two posts).

Not at all sure if this describes the same thing, but quite frequently when I an preparing a post with multiple attached image files I will get an error message that looks something like a timeout when uploading one or more of the attached files. It NEVER happens on the first attachment upload. I suspect what is happening may be related to a fairly slow processing of the attached file such that the server is not ready. This happens at both quicksandfans and quicksandland. Fortunately, I can recover, usually, by clicking on the browser's refresh button. This leads to a message that everything needs to be re-sent but doing that then works. This happens from all the computers I use from time to time and from all locations regardless of the connection speed at my end. In short I don't think the issue, at least the version I am describing, is specifically related to the forum itself.

Pilot Error is looking more like the probable cause at this point. They should have made that control sequence fail-safe

Being that they found parts 35 miles away from the crash site, structural failure due to the pilot error and aerodynamic realities are far more likely the cause than a propulsion system glitch
