There have been a lot of great stories written by the community, so if anyone is out there contributing in such a way, and doesn't see their name appear here, it doesn't mean your efforts are not appreciated.

Having said that, every time I read a story by Fear359, I was struck by how closely he was hitting my 'groove'. Awesome stuff.

I should be able to name more off the top of my head, but I'm not reading stories like I used to. My recreational viewing is now always at greater than arms length. I need to configure a text reader with a default large font and add stories to the 'mix'.

My nomination is a writer who goes by the pseudonym "Cameron Michaels," and, I believe but can't prove, three other pseudonyms before that. Under that name he only did one story with a quicksand scene that I know about, but it was a full length novel with the title, "Arena." It was a good read, had a very well-done quicksand scene near the end, and included at least one character I am nearly certain was based on someone who is an active member here to this day. In reading the book I always pictured Brinke as playing the principal female character, the owner of the featured resort. I have no idea if he is still lurking here somewhere.

PM2K is the first name that comes to mind for me. I really like his style. We've got a bunch of people who can right a great story that happens to have quicksand in it, as well as really good quicksand fetish fodder.

I certainly second Dave with regards to stories written by Fear359... his story, The Mudflats, may've been the first Quicksand Story I read when I discovered Quicksandland long ago. That story came in both a grim and a non-grim version.

PM2K has written some VERY impressive Quicksand Stories over the years! His story, Mudraker, is a wonderful read... he gives you a lot of information and insight of Heather... so much so that you actually hate her throughout the story and cheer the marsh then the mire when she gets stuck and is sucked under.

Lord Muck's, The Long Dark Night of the Moon, ranks as my all-time favorite... very melodramatic, very stuck-filled, very struggle-filled, and very sinky-filled! I love how there's truly a story to this piece and there's a lot of development of the character, Pam, so we understand who she is and what she's all about. I like how the mud was portrayed as a trap waiting in ambush... and, if you didn't realize it was a Quicksand Story, you would not have picked up the fact that Pam was going to get stuck in the mud until it happened.

I was very impressed with Mirador's writing of, The Last Great Adventure, another story that provides detailed insight into the character, Jes. He also goes into tremendous detail on how quicksand on a tidal flat works, how it ensnares Jes, and her expereince out on the flats as the tide comes in.

Regansi (aka, Northerner, Silkyfriction) wrote a wonderful piece called, Frustration, where he matched Lord Muck in the dramatic stuck, struggling, and sinking departments when describing Lavender's encounter with her muddy trap, but then he transitions into a sensual sink as Lavender settles hip-deep into the mire.

One other writer whose efforts caught my attention is Sakura Inverse, especially in, Haunted Mansion. This is a wonderful Halloween piece with the main character, Karen, getting captured in a quicksand trap conjured by a vampire named Iris Rose. I found the scene where Karen gets stuck in the quicksand and the description of her struggling and sinking to be simple and most effectively written.

As Dave noted, there are many writers out there who I have not mentioned whose Quicksand Stories have provided amazing entertainment. The writers I noted above have written stories that I enjoy reading time and time again.

At one time I read them all and even attempted a few. JT was one that I found more likely to make me nauseated than aroused. His writing and imagination were great but the subject matter filled a niche that I suspect most of us do not inhabit.

Ah, you need to read Vicious Circle.

I almost mentioned Jiminy because of just this one story. It's awesome, and probably fits your niche quite nicely.
