I came in to this fandom as someone who is not only gay, but a scaly/furry.
It is strange in a way to me, as some think of this fandom as mysoginistic due to the large number of men who like women sinking. This is something I never really think much about as my interest has always been with males, and especially dragons and dinosaurs.
This was just in my head after seeing a locked thread that i could not reply to.
(not a double post this time.) LGBT and quicksand?

I'm not sure if you're asking something or raising a point.

Zavvnao,
Few things make less sense than someone else's sex fantasy.
Yes, there are a LOT of people here that want to see women sink. For many, it's seeing them go under that "does the trick" for them. For me, *I* want to do the sinking. My first mud-related fantasy was when I was 14 or 15 and started dreaming of getting stuck while coming out of the water from skinny-dipping, and getting rescued by older girlscouts.
As they were older, they weren't "adult supervised" when they found me, and seemed inclined to "help" by rinsing mud off me.
At a low point in my life, I contemplated suicide by finding a soft spot in Pitch Lake.
Now, I'm married and happy, and it's been almost 5 years since I've been in any mud. Life goes on.
As for seeing guys in mud, or maybe fur or scale costumed guys in mud, the smaller the audience the higher the price. Maybe you could find the right backer and become a producer yourself? There could be a market out there for LGBT mud people. It's certainly untapped so far as I know. So far as porn goes, I hear that the pay is 5X higher for gay porn than it is for straight, when it comes to male actors. A lot of these videos seem to be around $10 per vid. If you're able to charge $50 a vid and get buyers, life might be nice...
Just some ramblings to think about.

I hope things stay happy ^^ I myself like to get sinking also. But it is mostly the getting stuck than going under ^^ And I do write a lot, so I know that is one path. This is an interesting suggestion you have ^^

These are my thoughts of the future of LGBT sinkers.
1.A vibrant community of us is not only now existing, but will eventually establish itself. But this must be done by our own efforts. I myself could only offer my own aesthetic ideas.
2.We have to expect the homophobia we encounter and will encounter. If we expend all our strength on psychic vampires, nothing will be accomplished.
3.I'm so sick of the goddamn fixation on clothed or nude male sinkers! Use the Isley brothers rule= "it's your thing! Do what you gotta do!"
4.As long as everyone involved is adult and consenting push the limits and explore our deepest fantasies. After all straight folks, already do this!
SO MOTE IT BE!

This comes up a lot, and there's no real reason for it to. If you are serious about this issue, let me give you this advice:
Stop drawing lines in the sand.
More often than not, openly gay members of the community feel they are "persecuted" because of their sexual orientation, but they come into the community with a victim complex and, whether intentional or not, bait the harassment that they receive.
We honestly do not that care that much about what your preferences are. Quicksand is meant to be our unifying interest and we're all entitled to enjoy it the way we please.
What bothers most people here is the chronic obnoxiousness that several users have demonstrated in the past. If people keep identifying with the "us or them" mentality, it's going to grind gears and people will get annoyed.
Cases of homophobia or harassment will be handled, but it does not help any cause if incidents happen because someone is being a pest to begin with.

Re: (not a double post this time.) LGBT and quicksand?
As a young man, I will admit I was homophobic. Not the blatant sort that beat anyone up, or even yelled or hated, but a more passive sort that would not have wanted to appear nude where gay men would see. Since then, three things have happened. Two of them are good!
1) I got to know a gay man. We had several LONG talks. I got to hear about his life and his orientation. Because of this, I overcame my church-loaded view that gays were evil and that they could infect straight guys with gay-ness. (Yes, I was that ignorant at one time)
2) I went through massage school and lost my feeling of shame for my body. Everyone has a body, and if mine is carrying more fat because I ate sugar rather than strangling someone, well it seemed like a good choice at the time.
3) I have gained a lot of weight. (Yep, the "good" things were the first two) I can out walk some thinner friends, but I still have almost 100 extra lbs on me, and I don't want them. I have started trying to remedy that already, but at 51, I doubt I'm going to be anyone someone wants a picture of again. (I would envy anyone who likes looking at old fat guys, we are everywhere!)
There are reasons enough to hate out there. This is one anyone can get out of their system, and it's for your own good. You have to have self loathing before you can really hate someone else. Sure, lots of people have love/hate relationships with their self, but it does get better the more you can dump the hate and increase the love. (and in my humble opinion, some of the strongest haters really just need the right boyfriend to get over it)

Agreed. Everyone seems to forget the love quotient in sexual relationships. Without it sex is just an empty exchange. And this goes for all relationships regardless of preference.
