The most famous photograph in history. Still has power even today

Remember, 3 of the guys in this shot, were KIA mere days after this; the 4th, Corpsman 2nd John Bradley was severely wounded. This shot wasn't the end of fighting on the island at all. But it did mean something

the book Flag of our Fathers is worth reading, as are the two Clint Eastwood movies that sprang from it

The book is better than the movie, probably because it was written by John Bradley's son. The movie skates around a couple things. The book doesn't and actually spells it out bluntly.
