Call me old fashion but that to me seems like an activity reserved for a more private setting like...pretty much any room your mom isn't in. I'm not trying to be the ethics police or something to that effect, but I really can't wrap my head around why you were fooling around with your boyfriend in the same room as your mom.

What exactly is "fooling around"? Kissing? Hugging? My parents on occasion used to smooch passionately in the kitchen while I ate breakfast as a child. I guess they wanted to set a good example or just did not care. So I suppose if a person is raised with that "norm" then children will act like their parents and reciprocate with their lovers when the time comes.

That's a fair argument I guess. "Fooling around" can cover a bit of a range of activities and I guess if she grew up seeing her parents fool around (whatever that may be) then I guess it could be a sort of normal thing to do. Still seems odd, but I'll let it go.
