Only 2 of the Raiders remaining now. One Jimmy Doolittle's copilot, the other the mid-upper gunner/flight engineer from the Ruptured Duck, which was portrayed primarily in "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo"

Hard to believe it's been 73 years since the Doolittle Raid.
There's this barber I go to who's a WWII Veteran. In his shop he has a scale model of the USS Hornet (the suerstructure and a good size portion of the flight deck) of the Doolittle Raid. There's atleast 3 B-25's on the deck as well as numerous crewmen about (including Doolittle). He spent 7 years making the model (and a very impressive job he did).

I got to meet Ed Saylor, the engineer on the #15 plane, "TNT." The man removed one of his plane's engines while the Hornet was en route to the launch point and did depot-level maintenance on it using parts he fabricated in the carriers machine shop. This without any of the proper engine lifts, dollies, or other B-25 maintenance equipment; the 2000-pound engine was man-handled down to the hangar deck. The test flight was the mission, and they made it all the way to the Chinese coast when they ran out of fuel.
