Folks will recall the scene in the 1972 version which a lovely Russian soldier drowns in the bog. There is also a Chinese film based on the same material which also has a sinking scene...
So,,,, a flick to keep an eye out for...

Re: Remake coming of Dawns Here are Quiet
It was supposed to premier yesterday in Moscow. I'm looking around.
Link to wallpaper photo from movie with cast - http://www.goodfon.su/download/a-zori-z ... /1920x1080
Youtube clip of making the movie - Starting at 17:43

Looking around it seems that YouTube is full of bits on the remake. I'm not in a position to do much searching at the moment.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

That was entertaining in itself.
Looks to be a good film overall. Be interesting to see how they do handle that sinking scene.

Oh those poor old Mosin's in that swamp ...
Nice to see some old-school effects being put to use alongside modern stuff, it looks like it should be good.
And it's been a while since seen the original, but those look like the original locations they shot at. Very cool

I think that the scene is (very briefly) shown @ approx 1:11 in this trailer:

Looks like water was used rather than mud though tbh.

Apparently there was a 2005 television mini-series made as well. Our point of interest begins here but it's not quiet what we'd like it to be - https://youtu.be/G-WO_pz9rSg?t=23m45s

No sign of the present-day remake online just yet, might be a little while before it comes out
