Wasted Opportunity: Mad Max Fury Road

Postby Mynock » Mon May 18, 2015 1:18 pm

"Oh no! Our giant badass truck full of scantily clad harem girls is stuck in the mud!"

Yes! Yes! Holy fuck yes! :D

"Wait never mind! The crazy albino guy who eats spray paint figured the winch! We're saved!"

SONOFABITCH!

Fer Real? Crap...

I thought I might actually go to see that just because of the harem I'd been reading about.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

If you liked the original I think you'd like this one. Faster paced with a different plot angle but has some nods in it to the old Mel Gibson version that made me smile.
One thing I really was happy about was they kept the car stunts within the realm of realistic. I end up hating a lot of modern car chase movies because the shit they do to the cars wouldn't possibly work in real life. They did all the stunt work in this one live action, no CGI, so you'll see some awesome stuff happen but nothing that seriously defies reality.

Exactly :D
No retard moves
No retard drifts or power slides
No retard jumps

Just hot BMWs, Audis, and Mercedes roaring around twisty roads and streets, driving like you supposed to, SHIFTING properly, and a cast that looks like it knows what it's doing, not spending over half the time grimacing at the cameras :P

I'd pay for a remake just to see what was in that goddamned box

**Bonus -- Sean Bean is in it and DOESN'T die :D

There's some crazy stuff (it wouldn't be Mad Max if there weren't lol) but again nothing that like bends the laws of physics. About the craziest thing is the monster truck jump you see in the trailer but hell it's a monster truck, they do that. 8-)

It is proof NOTHING beats old school stunts and car crunching! :D Love to see more film makers follow the example.

"I ambushed you with a cup of coffee..." that line was awesome, and had the chance to use it once.
