Subergance

Postby arisumudvixen » Sat Jun 06, 2015 9:39 pm

So i think this is one of the places that I can turn to to discuss submerging in the mud, without being immediately spoken to about "what do you want to kill yourself or something?"

Anyone else around want to go completely under if only to feel what it's like to be completely surrounded in the mud/quicksand?

I submerged a few times in bottomless natural peat about 12 years ago. It was okay. I learned from that experience that I am a watcher and not a doer.

I love submerging whenever conditions are right, and circumstances allow. Most (but not all) of my videos at http://www.quicksandfans.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2588 feature submergences, including ones where I stay under, breathing through a hose, to remain submerged for longer periods of time. Sometimes, when it is thick enough, I can actually linger just below the surface, after the mire loosely closed over my face, and still be able to suck air through the closed crack, without any breathing hose/tube! Or, if it is thick enough, I might be able to linger just below the surface, breathing through a gap in the mud over my head. When I am under, and it isn't too cold, I find it pure heaven, like I am in my own world!

For prolonged submergences, I like to wear swim goggles to keep mud out of my eyes, because no matter how hard I close my eyes, some particles do get in. But, I think it happens mostly after I resurface, wipe mud from my eyes, and open them up, with some mud still stuck to my eyelashes, which then gets in. But, it isn't painful, but perhaps it might ache slightly or feel slightly irritated, and gradually comes out over the rest of the day (ending at home looking in a mirror to get the last out), surrounded by mucous.

When the weather is just marginally warm for submergences, I tend to use a latex swim cap to keep my hair dry, so I can clean off afterward without having wet hair which chills me during those marginal conditions. 8-)
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

Boggy man is the expert but I like submerging for as long as my breath lasts Utter silence & peace which is a great experience Ear plugs are helpful otherwise muddy earwax for a week!! There is a danger that re-emerging will take longer than your breath lasts so need to be fairly sure how thick the mud is & how long it will take to get up again & a trial before full submergence is advisable

I like to sink to my armpits, but if I submerge, I like the feeling of sinking under beyond my control. Whereas, I would be pulled under by gravity and nothing in reach to hang onto, or by being pulled or sucked down strongly. Unfortunately, this type of mire doesn't exist, to my knowledge.
