Game of Thrones S5 Finale

Postby kham » Sun Jun 14, 2015 9:43 pm

Well

I'm running out of reasons to watch at this rate. I think the season peaked 2 episodes ago, and the cleanup just been underway since

War seems inevitable now between Dorne and the Lannisters, what with the bitchbeast sister and her three slut pals utterly defying the Prince (nice work by Alexander Siddig there BTW) and murdering Jamie's daughter right in front of him by poison. They have to also have their retard meters broken, since they did it in a fashion that they'd already tried for shits and giggles

Stannis, poor guy; he's had a hard go, starting with listening to the redheaded bitch years ago. Taking her advice? Well. Sacrificing his OWN daughter to try and inspire the men and gain the favour of the gods attacking Winterfel? Didnt quite work out. Yeah, a thaw came and the bitch all smiles. Then they discover that half the men - and all horses - decided that a suicide mission not a great idea. Then, he finds out his wife hung herself. Seeing her daughter get roasted probably didnt do a lot for her mental state. Not to worry. On to Winterfel!!
Get there, all hot to set up seige.... and before they can take a leak, they get charged by the entire Bolton Army. Doesnt end well  Stannis manages to survive only to be executed by Brienne for that tiny detail of murdering his own brother way back when. The Red chick escapes and shows up at the wall near the end. Payback needed on her

Cersei got back to the keep, after confessing one sin (lying about the rest) and enduring a jesus-like walk of shame stark naked through the streets pelted by rubbish, fruit, crap and rocks. She makes it but not the best shape. However.... we learn that the mad scientist type has concluded his experiments, introducing the 'newest' knight of the realm, a towering figure in armour complete with heavy breathing ( I nearly fell over laughing there -- come on fellas... ) who is clearly what used to be The Mountain. Somehow I suspect payback on the religo-fanatic douchebag scum will not be pretty.

About the only up point, was in Mereen, where they have to go find Daenerys Targaryen who was last seen riding one of her dragons into the northern wastelands. Damn inconvenient, dragons, they never say where the hell they going :D So they have to go look, but someone has to stay behind and run the place. Who'd have thought Tyrion would end up that job? I figure with Varys, Grey Worm and Missandei, by the time they get back the city be running like a swiss watch :P

The last 3 min however might cost the show a whole shitload of fans if it goes as looks. Avert your gaze this quals as major spoiler info if inclined...

look away

look away goddamnit :P

They pulled a Julius Ceasar on Jon Snow  I can't see how he makes it, out side of divine intervention, the Force, or major sorcery. Guess they either got something in mind or the giving the fans a collosal middle finger. It be kinda like killing of Daryl in the Walking Dead.

Note:

From some of released stuff now post-show, they seem to be of the opinion from the top down that he's gone for real

Also, as predicted..... very VERY large number of fans are angry; from pissed off to completely losing the fucking bubble. It's one thing to have a loved character die like a hero, but this? Just like if TWD had done it to Daryl. And trying to fob-off it on "well thats what the story is...." is a steaming pile of horseshit, since they already stated that the SHOW was taking a different track from the books. Or , eg, you could pretty much chart your own course. That shit is just an excuse. Which I suspect will grow more shrill and spittle flecked as the reviews and FUCK YOU's come in as far as rating and fan abandonment go. It serves no purpose. And the fans will, rightly, ask the blunt fucking question, you kill off a loved character with lot of story that could be done, YET you fucking keep the cocksucking MOUNTAIN ALIVE???

Blood, and pain they be wanting

Given that Jorah has been hiding the fact that he has greyscale, and that they made a point of showing Jorah taking Daenerys by the hand (who, in turn, touched Missandei, and who, I'm sure, has since touched Grey Worm), I'm not so sure what Daenerys will be returning to if she ever gets back to Meereen. Or what kind of shape she herself will be returning in. Depends on how soon after infection greyscale becomes contagious, I guess, and whether you actually have to touch an infected part of the body.

That's a good in-verse question. Reality-wise you're right, but I suspect writing wise be trumping. It can't be the plague, since Jorah hasn't been taking any special precautions. All I know is, if this season was bloody, next season will be dialed up to 13 :D There's a whole lotta killin' to be done. Some I suspect especially creative (the soon to be exterminated sparrow and his entire order...no way they live now) and the retard triplets and the silly bitch, it's even money who does them; Jamie will tear Dorne apart with his bare hand and glove to get them, and The Prince told them point -blank, you get a second chance; there are NO third chances. I figure the red witch bites it in the first ep, since there's no need keeping her alive, and every single thing she's predicted has been epic fail. Plus, that whole killing the princess thing. Davos wont let her live. It's going to be a terrible mess, and the north's only chance at stability just got killed off because a bunch of retards were all asshurt. Bring the popcorn, those wannabe's I betting wont live past ep 2

I think what has the fans calling for blood, is that they had said they were departing from the book-story somewhat. So why stick to that? Speculation is gone sideways, with some wanting him resurrected (which has happened) some suggestions he turn into his dire wolf, and some wanting white walker Jon Snow to return and kill them all

Don't know if any of you are familiar with the Song of Ice and Fire books, but this season took some pretty drastic deviations from the source material. Jon Snow is actually the only character who is supposed to (apparently) die. Cersei's walk of shame is also pretty much according to plan. The rest is all either somewhat or completely made up.

Also, should HBO decide to do a season six, it would be all original content. GRRM hasn't written anything past this point.

I cried so hard!!! I had previously read the books but it still was difficult to watch Jon Snow die. But you never know what will come next!
