B61 Test Drop

B61 Shape Drop from F-15E

Interesting they didn't show the impact point. A lot of the commentary elsewhere has been, how this allows using a smaller yield when having pinpoint accuracy. Now, I might be miserable old Cold War bastard, but frankly, I want accuracy with the biggest fucking yield you can dial up. Like a B83 (1.2 MT) or, a B53 (9 MT) Shit, if you could reactivate them, a Mk 17/24 monster (24 MT) . It should be noted, that highly accurate drops are nothing new; like, 1960s not new. They did a B53 laydown test one time from a BUFF, which came in with it's hair on fire north of 500 knots, did the popup/pushover maneuver, and shacked it 20 feet from the bulls-eye.
The B61 Mod 12 shown here, is supposedly meant for use on the F-35 and has a yield of only 50kt. Again, I may be medieval, but I want my ultimate weapons to be not limited; I want the Fucking Death Star

Read the wiki page on the B-61, it's actually adjustable from .3KT all the way up to 340KT. That's like 20 Hiroshima's......probably enough to get the job done.

Yeah, I know
But this one, the Mod 12 is reputed to be only one yield and nothing else, 50kt. For hitting hardened targets, that is way too low. SAC, which is not around anymore, would sneer at it. And rightly so. There are consequences to being politically correct retards. And doing away with SAC and it's entire ethos is one of them. SAC wasn't about being all fluffy and pink unicorns. It was about obliterating the enemy
