1996 - the FIRST picture I remember

Postby reisen55 » Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:26 am

Browsing the web at a job in a quiet room, I randomly decided to see if quicksand was out there and damn near fell off the chair when this came up. Hat Tip to old Kaol who was out there with Der Mud Gekko and others when the world was new.

It was 1995 for me when I found The Quicksand Page and Messy Fun and ASFWAM and the old MPV BBS after getting a new PC and dial-up Internet connection at home.

My whole body was on fire for two days straight.

It took me another year to come "out" to the wife so thank gawd she understood.

There was one vendor ... Mark Kelly? Kelly Marcus? ... who made messy videos and also sold quicksand TV clip collections on VHS around that time before YouTube came along.

Anyone remember his firm's name?

The picture I most vividly remember as "first" was Messy Fun's Victoria covered completely in yellow clay while standing waist deep in it.

Ah, Skyler... the first jungle girl to sink for MPV... as far as I know. One of the stars in the very first MPV tape I ordered, once I obtained all of the clip tapes. Did a lot of impressive work in those early days.

If I remember the backstory correctly, the woman in question was about to jump into the mud at an overpass in West Virginia when she was pushed and sunk that far on impact. I want to say this was Chuck Lang or Kaol's photo.

That picture at the top really brings me back to trying to get some time in on my dad's computer before he got home from work. It was shitty AOL dial-up. Unfortunately, I didn't know about things like 'browser hostory' as the Internet was still very new to me. That was definitely the first picture I saw on the first website that allowed me to discover I wasn't the only one!
