Report on The Green Inferno - Minor spoilers

Postby sixgunzloaded » Fri Sep 25, 2015 3:38 pm

First the bad news - no qs. On the other hand though, it's a fun cannibal feast from Eli Roth (Hostel) with make-up and effects from KNB FX (The Walking Dead). There is a cool moment (Minor Spoiler Alert) where one of the girls takes a step in what looks like a very shallow part of a rushing river only to vanish, Princess Bride-like, below the surface, then pop up several yards downstream flailing about.
An entertaining flick for fans of grue. No, not the Despicable Me guy. 8-)
How long did Tarzan watch before deciding to save Jill..?

I strongly dislike gore and so I have no intention of watching this movie.

That said, I was tickled to learn that the director has a beef with Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) and decided to have a clan of SJWs save the very tribe at the beginning of the movie that would eat them at the end of the movie!

Justice has been served!

That was doom Good reading! I'm not a fan of Gore either, but I might make an exception to watch this one.
Digging up the dead with a shovel and a pick it's a job!
Bloody moon rising with a plague and a flood join the mob!
It's all over!

One more thing to add. A lot of these SJW are an embarrassment to left of center folks like me. So I will probably have many a good laugh at this one!

I love watching goody-goody types crash about in the jungle like it's Disney World. I've seen a few get freaky about the insect life in Tennessee marshes so I can only imagine what it would be like for them in a real jungle. Sometimes movies like this serve to fuel the background processes that make good quicksand scenes in your mind. There once was a time when I could watch dead babies being loaded with a pitchfork and laugh. As I get older I'm less and less a fan of nasty stuff like this unless it's Quentin Tarantino. Since it is "The Bear Jew" at work here then maybe I'll check it out. Thanks for the review.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

I'm a huge horror fan so I couldn't wait to see this movie. I thought it started out pretty strong & gruesome but there were some things IIIthought they could've done better with. The place crash scene though (it's in the trailer so no spoiler :P ) was really intense and scary. But maybe it hit home more for me because of all the traveling I do. The very first cannibal scene is pretty gruesome. So gruesome that I felt like the ones to follow they held back on because they're like, "Well that first one was pretty crazy so that's enough." Also, you can't make horror cannibal films like you used to be able to in today's world. The rating system won't allow you to so I knew it wasn't going to get too crazy. The scene during the credits really pissed me off to which I won't say in detail so to not spoil the film but it made me feel they're making this film for profit & not because they have a love for horror. Someone told me they think Eli Roth is like the Michael Bay of horror films. That made me giggle a little.

I read somewhere that "true animal snuff" used to be part of these movies long ago so I am glad that aspect has been "snuffed"!

Going one step further, there are fetish actresses who lost out on ever working for Producers in this group once it was discovered they had participated in animal crushing videos. That is an instant and permanent blacklist.

I remember references to "that" in the MPV video series back in the early days which featured interviews of perspective models and their auditions in the clay and sand pits the studio had at that time. I was so out of touch about such things, when a model cheerfully mentioned she had taken part in "stomp," I had no idea what she was talking about.... Then one day, i found out and kind of wished I didn't. *shudder*

Only plus to finding out was realizing once again how harmless our fetish really is compared to all the others out there...
