I remember this well. I was 9 at the time, and lived close to the eastern shores of Superior. It was all the talk of the region for many months afterwards. We went down to the lake a couple days after the Fitz was lost, and the waves were still huge. We were well out of danger, but seeing those walls of water crash in, after the storm had passed, was a sobering reminder of the lake's power.
