Last time there was a SW movie, they had a midnight showing, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time around here. Perhaps its a secrecy thing, they have gone somewhat to the extreme in keeping the plot and slightest details under wraps

^^Early show here is 7pm 12/17. Surprisingly little interest, plenty of empty seats left, which is awesome. Less people crammed in there the less of a change I have to stab someone with a plastic lightsaber for using their phone during the movie.

I just checked and my local theater, which is a major 20 screen monster, with IMAX 3D, Big D, regular screen showings, Digital IMAX SuperCineramaYourMama, you name it showings. There will be 24 opportunities to view this flick on the first night after it opens (7:05pm to 3:15am) and the majority appear sold out already. And that's a school night. Should be an epic weekend.
